Resume to PDF converter
Drop a .docx or a PDF, or paste the text. Check the name, contact line and sections it found, pick one of three plain one-column designs, and download the PDF. Free, no signup; the file is read and the PDF is made in your browser.

How to use it
- 1
Drop the file, or paste the text
A .docx or a PDF is read on your device. A scanned PDF has no text to read, so paste the text instead. An old .doc file needs saving as .docx first.
- 2
Check what it found
The first line becomes your name, lines with an email, phone number or link become the contact line, and each heading such as Experience or Education starts a section. Lines that start with • are bullets. Fix anything it got wrong: every field can be edited, and sections can be moved, added or deleted.
- 3
Pick a design and download
Classic, Modern or Compact, on US Letter or A4. The preview follows as you type. The PDF holds real text in one column, so it can be selected, searched and read by an applicant tracking system.
What it is, and is not
It re-lays out your words; it does not copy your formatting
The converter keeps your text and sets it in one of its own three designs. Fonts, colours, columns, tables, photos and icons from the original are not carried over. If the original layout is what you want, save that file as a PDF from Word or Google Docs instead.
Nothing leaves your browser until you say so
The file is read and the PDF is made on your device. We record that the converter was used, which design was downloaded and whether you started from a file or pasted text; never the text. The one exception is yours to make: “Open this in the editor” sends the text to Resume Master so it is laid out for you after you sign in, and it is deleted once opened.
Scans and unusual layouts need a hand
A scanned PDF is a picture of a page, with no text to read: paste the text. A two-column PDF can come out with its columns mixed, and a heading the reader does not know stays inside the section above it. Both are quick to fix in the form before you download.
Questions about the resume to PDF converter
Is the converter really free?
Yes. No account, no email, no watermark and no limit on downloads: the PDF is made in your browser, so there is nothing for us to meter.
Can I convert a Word resume to PDF?
Yes, from a .docx file: drop it and the text is read on your device. An older .doc file cannot be read here; open it in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx, or copy the text and paste it. From Pages or Google Docs, download a .docx or a PDF first.
Why does my PDF not look like my original?
Because the converter re-lays out the text rather than copying the page. That is the point for most people: a resume built in a busy template, or with columns and text boxes, comes out as one clean column. If you need the original look, export the original file as a PDF instead.
Will an applicant tracking system read the PDF?
No outside tool can promise how a particular employer’s system reads a file. What this PDF does is avoid the common problems: one column, real text you can select, standard fonts, headings written as text, and no tables, images or text boxes. Whether you match the job is down to the words; compare them with the posting in the free keyword checker.
How many pages will it be?
As many as the text needs. The PDF starts a new page where the text runs over and keeps each bullet in one piece. Compact fits the most on a page; if you are over two, the free resume checker shows how long the resume runs and what else to fix.
Does it handle accents and other alphabets?
It uses the standard PDF fonts, which cover English and Western European accents such as é, ñ and ü. Letters outside that set, for example Greek, Cyrillic or Polish ł, are not drawn yet; the page tells you which ones before you download.
Does the converter upload my resume?
No. The file is read and the PDF is made in your browser. Only if you click “Open this in the editor” is the text sent to Resume Master, where it is parsed into your account after you sign in and then deleted.
What happens when I open it in the editor?
You sign in to a free account (3 AI credits, no card), the text is laid out as a resume in a Template, and from there you can tailor it to a posting in about two minutes. Free accounts export PDFs with no download limit; see pricing.
