  1. No contract values or project types

    A construction resume without dollar values and building types leaves the reader guessing. Give both for each major project.

  2. Tasks instead of outcomes

    Managed RFIs and submittals is a task list. Add results: schedule recovered, margin improved, change orders settled, no open claims.

  3. Leaving out delivery method

    Hard bid, GMP and design-build require different skills. Say which ones you have managed so the reader can match you to their work.

  4. Ignoring safety

    General contractors are measured on safety. Mention recordable-free hours, programs you led or recognition your sites earned.

  5. Burying software and certifications

    Procore, P6, OSHA 30 and PMP are common screening terms. List them in a clear skills and certifications section.
