Application for Senior Administrator, Housing Options Team, ref HO-2026-18
Dear Ms Vaughan-Price,
Please consider my application for the Senior Administrator post in your Housing Options team, advertised on the council's jobs portal. I am a team administrator with five years in housing and healthcare, currently supporting a property services team of 24 staff and three managers at Taff Vale Housing Association, and the essential criteria on the person specification, diary management for several managers, purchase orders and invoices, minute taking and records that meet GDPR, describe the work I do every day.
At Taff Vale I keep three managers' diaries clash-free, prepare the papers and take the minutes for the team's meetings, and raise and match around 150 purchase orders and invoices a month on SAP. When repairs orders kept going missing between the team and the contractors, I moved them onto a shared tracker, which ended the lost and duplicated jobs. I organise the quarterly tenant panel and two annual events for up to 180 residents, with venues, transport and accessible materials in Welsh and English, and I have answered every Freedom of Information request that came to the team inside the statutory deadline.
Before that I ran the front desk of a three-surgery dental practice in Barry, booking around 90 appointments a day and keeping the clinicians' day lists accurate, and I moved the recall letters into the practice management system, which cut missed recalls. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration and the Microsoft Office Specialist certificate in Excel, I type at 70 words a minute, and I can take a call in Welsh from a resident who prefers it.
My CV is enclosed with the detail of both posts and my qualifications, and my supporting statement on the form addresses each criterion in turn. I would be glad to come in for interview at a time that suits the team, and I can start on one month's notice. Thank you for considering my application.
Yours sincerely,
Megan Prothero
