Front-end interviews tend to start with a framework question and end with a look at something you built. This template follows that order. The skills block sits under the summary and names your framework, TypeScript and styling approach on separate lines, since a recruiter matches those first. Experience comes next, then a Selected Work section with links a reviewer can open: a live interface, a component library in Storybook, or a repository.

The experience prompts ask for what an engineering manager probes in the technical screen: which screens and flows you owned, what you measured in the browser (bundle size, Interaction to Next Paint, Largest Contentful Paint), how accessible the result was, and how other teams used your components. Product outcomes, such as completed signups or fewer interface bugs reported, belong in the same bullets.

Fill in every bracket, delete slots you cannot back with evidence, and keep the single-column layout as is. The front-end developer resume example shows this structure filled in.

How to fill in each section

  1. Summary: framework, product type, your strength

Name your framework and TypeScript in the opening clause, then the kind of interface you build: data-heavy dashboards, consumer checkout flows, internal tools. The middle sentence should give the strength colleagues describe you by, framed as something visible in the product. End by naming the team type from the posting. Interface-focused roles carry many titles (front-end engineer, UI engineer, JavaScript developer), so match the one in the ad.

  2. Skills: framework, styling, testing

Use three lines that match how front-end teams divide their stack: framework and state, styling and design tooling, testing and performance. Name a framework you would be comfortable building with live in an interview; listing three frameworks equally suggests you know none of them deeply. Include the accessibility standard you work to, and Figma if you take designs from it daily. Spell meta-frameworks exactly as their docs do: Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit.

  3. Experience: flows owned, browser metrics, reuse

Front-end work is easiest to judge by the flows you owned and how they behaved for users. Start with the screens and their audience, then a browser metric with before and after values, then reuse: components other teams adopted or a library you maintained. Accessibility belongs as a measured result, not an adjective. If you partnered with design or product on an experiment, give the outcome; managers want front-end developers who care whether a change worked.

  4. Selected Work: two links worth opening

Front-end reviewers want to click. Give one live interface and one link to code or components, each with a line on what you personally built. Storybook is a strong choice because it shows states, props and documentation in one place. For work behind a login, a short case study with screenshots and the problem it solved works well. Check that every link loads and that the code still builds before you send the resume.

  5. Education: whatever route you took

One line with the degree, bootcamp or program, the school and the year. Many front-end developers arrive from graphic design, marketing or self-teaching, and a design background is an asset worth naming here if it shows in your work. After two years of paid front-end work, education stays a single line at the bottom with no coursework or projects listed under it.

Questions about the front end developer resume template

Should Selected Work come before Experience?

Move it above Experience when you are applying for your first front-end job or switching from design, because the links are your strongest proof. Once you have a year or two of shipped product work, keep it after Experience as supporting evidence.

How do I show front-end impact without access to analytics?

Use what you can measure yourself: bundle size, Lighthouse or Web Vitals scores before and after, the number of components reused, accessibility issues fixed, bugs found in QA. Ask your product manager for the outcome of anything you shipped; most will share the direction even if not exact figures.

Should a front-end developer list back-end skills?

List them on a short line if you use them, such as writing API routes or simple Node.js services, but keep the page centered on the interface. If your role really covers the server, the database and hosting, the web developer resume template suits you better.

How long should a front-end developer resume be?

One page for most front-end developers. Senior engineers leading design systems or architecture across several teams can use a second page, but the framework, current role and best performance or reuse result should all appear on page one.

Is it free?

Yes. The Word files and the Google Docs copy are free to download, edit and use for any application. There is no signup and no email.

Will it read correctly in an applicant tracking system?

The layout is one column with standard headings and real text: no tables, text boxes, icons, columns or images, which are the parts parsers most often misread. Keep it that way as you edit.

Word or Google Docs?

Use whichever you edit in. The Word file opens in Microsoft Word, Pages and LibreOffice. The Google Docs link asks you to make a copy in your own Drive; the original stays blank for the next person. Send the posting the format it asks for, usually .docx or PDF.

Every application goes out fitting the job.
