A head of marketing hiring a manager reads for scope before results: which channels you owned, how much budget you controlled, and how many people or agencies worked with you. A pipeline figure means little until the reader knows whether it came from a small paid search account or a full demand program. So each experience heading in this template has a slot for budget and team, and the bullets underneath ask for results tied to revenue: pipeline, acquisition cost, conversion, retention, return on ad spend.

After experience comes a Selected Campaigns section: two or three campaigns, each with a link to the live work or a case page, the goal, and the measured outcome. Marketing is visible work, and a hiring manager will click through to see the creative and the landing page. Skills follow, split into channels, analytics and platforms; education closes.

Pick prompts that suit the kind of marketing you do. Growth, brand and product marketing managers will fill this differently, and an empty slot is better deleted than stretched. A finished page is in the marketing manager resume example.

How to fill in each section

  1. Summary: channels, budget, the result you lead with

Name your type of marketing and the channels you own in the opening clause. Put budget and team size in the second sentence, since scope is the first thing a marketing leader weighs. Then give one outcome tied to revenue or growth. If the posting is for brand rather than demand, swap the outcome for a positioning or awareness result and say how it was measured.

  2. Experience: scope in the heading, revenue in the bullets

Write the budget and team in each role heading so every bullet below reads at the right scale. Bullets should trace a cause to an outcome: the channel or test you ran and what it did to pipeline, acquisition cost, conversion or retention. Impressions and followers belong only when the posting is about awareness, and then next to a reach goal. Credit agencies and colleagues by role, and keep your own decision clear.

  3. Selected Campaigns: links that open

Choose two or three campaigns that match the posting's channels. Each line gives a working link, the goal and the result. Link to a public landing page, a case study you wrote, or a short portfolio page; never to internal dashboards. If the work is confidential, describe the campaign and offer to walk through it in an interview. Check every link the day you apply.

  4. Skills: channels, analytics, platforms

Three lines keep a broad field readable. List the channels you have run with real budget, the analysis you do yourself, and the platforms you can set up and report from without help. A platform you touched once in a training course does not belong; marketing leaders ask how you configured things. Match the posting's spelling of each tool.

  5. Education: degree plus one certificate

Degree, school and year, then at most one or two current certificates when the posting names them. Certificates for retired platform versions can go. A marketing degree is common but not required; after a few years, measured results outweigh it.

Questions about the marketing manager resume template

Why does a marketing manager resume need links?

Because the work is public and a hiring manager wants to see it. Two or three strong links in Selected Campaigns let them judge creative, messaging and landing pages quickly. A portfolio link in the header works too, if it opens to recent work.

How do I show results when attribution was disputed?

Name the measure your company used and the time frame, such as *marketing-sourced pipeline under first-touch attribution*. Being exact about the method is more credible than a bigger number with no definition.

Should I include agency work or freelance clients?

Yes, as a role with the agency name and the type of clients, or as a freelance role with a date range. Pick the client results closest to the posting and leave client names out unless the work is published with your credit.

What if I manage campaigns but no people?

Many marketing manager titles manage a budget and agencies rather than staff. Say so in the heading and use the last bullet for agency, freelancer or cross-team coordination, with what that group delivered.

Is it free?

Yes. The Word files and the Google Docs copy are free to download, edit and use for any application. There is no signup and no email.

Will it read correctly in an applicant tracking system?

The layout is one column with standard headings and real text: no tables, text boxes, icons, columns or images, which are the parts parsers most often misread. Keep it that way as you edit.

Word or Google Docs?

Use whichever you edit in. The Word file opens in Microsoft Word, Pages and LibreOffice. The Google Docs link asks you to make a copy in your own Drive; the original stays blank for the next person. Send the posting the format it asks for, usually .docx or PDF.
