A real estate resume is read by a broker deciding whether you will bring business to the office or need it handed to you. So this template puts a License block straight under the summary, then a Production section that gives sides closed, sales volume and where the clients came from for each of your recent years. A managing broker can then compare you with the agents already on their roster before reading a single bullet.

The Experience section follows, with one entry per brokerage or team. Each bullet slot asks for something a broker can act on: listings taken and sold, buyer clients closed, a niche you own such as first-time buyers or a single neighborhood, and the marketing you run yourself. The brackets hold prompts with a sample answer in parentheses; type over them with your own deals, or remove a slot that does not apply to how you sell.

Skills and Education close the page because a broker hires on production and license status first. For a finished version written by a buyer-side agent, open the real estate agent resume example.

How to fill in each section

  1. Summary: market, sides, lead source

Name the state and the kind of property you sell in the first sentence, because a broker filling a luxury listing desk reads differently from one building a first-time buyer team. Give last year's sides and volume in the second, then where those clients came from. Brokers worry most about agents who depend on paid leads, so a sphere or referral share is worth stating if it is real.

  2. License and production: one line per year

Put your license type, state and number first, exactly as the state commission lists it, so the broker can verify it in a minute. Then add a line for each of your last two or three years with sides, volume, listings and buyers. Use your own sides only; if you were on a team, write team production separately in the job entry. Designations go last, each with its year.

  3. Experience: listings, buyers, how you find them

Keep one entry per brokerage, with the team name if you worked on one, since brokers know each other's splits and lead programs. Use the bullet slots for what a broker cannot see from your production line: how you win listings, which buyers you serve best, and the marketing you pay for yourself. One bullet about a difficult deal you saved shows judgment better than adjectives like client-focused.

  4. Skills: the work, then the tools

Write the transaction skills a broker will test in an interview, such as running a listing presentation or pricing from comparable sales, before the software. The tools line should name the MLS and the CRM you actually keep your database in. A new agent can list the parts of the transaction they were trained on in pre-licensing and in a mentor program, as long as each one is something they can talk through.

  5. Education: the licensing course counts

List the pre-licensing course with its hours and school, then any degree. Brokers rarely ask about majors, but a degree in business, marketing or finance helps an agent who wants to move into commercial work or management later. Continuing education belongs here only if the posting asks for it; otherwise the license line already proves it is current.

Questions about the real estate agent resume template

How do I fill this template in my first year as an agent?

Write the License block as soon as your license is issued and leave the production lines out until you have closings. Use the experience slots for work that brought you clients or taught you sales, such as retail, hospitality or a leasing office, and add a bullet for the sphere you are starting with. The leasing agent resume example shows that background written for a broker.

Should team production go on my resume?

Yes, but separately from your own. Give your personal sides on the production lines, then mention in the job entry what the team closed and your role on it: lead agent, buyer specialist or showing partner. Brokers call each other, and numbers that match the team leader's account make the call short.

What should a real estate broker resume add?

A broker applying to manage an office or a team adds the agents recruited, trained and retained, the office's production while they led it, and any compliance or file review responsibility. Put the broker license first in the License block and keep personal production as a supporting line.

Is it free?

Yes. The Word files and the Google Docs copy are free to download, edit and use for any application. There is no signup and no email.

Will it read correctly in an applicant tracking system?

The layout is one column with standard headings and real text: no tables, text boxes, icons, columns or images, which are the parts parsers most often misread. Keep it that way as you edit.

Word or Google Docs?

Use whichever you edit in. The Word file opens in Microsoft Word, Pages and LibreOffice. The Google Docs link asks you to make a copy in your own Drive; the original stays blank for the next person. Send the posting the format it asks for, usually .docx or PDF.

Every application goes out fitting the job.
